Chris is the President and Visual Effects Supervisor of Frantic Films, a company he founded in March of 1997. Focused on bringing science and art together, Bond has directed the development of a variety of tools including fluid-based simulation at Frantic Films Software Inc. Frantic Films' research and development of custom propriety software has been used extensively in feature films to provide custom solutions to challenging projects. This is most recently illustrated in Superman Returns in a variety of forms, foremost as silt simulation, fluid surface dynamics and interaction, crystal growth research and billions of simulated particles per frame to create a virtual liquid "sun".
From fluid and smoke simulation to visual effects management software including Deadline (render management) and Project Flow (project tracking database) Frantic is able to build a facility that offers clients all the tools necessary to create state-of-the-art visual effects and animation.
Frantic has established itself as a leading provider of cutting edge visual effects for an ever-growing roster of clients including Warner Bros. (Swordfish, Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Catwoman, Poseidon), Paramount (The Core, Italian Job, Paycheck), 20th Century Fox (X2: X-Men United, Stay, X3: The Last Stand), and Universal (Idlewild).
